SSMG to launch mussel-in-sauce range to Middle East
The Scottish Shellfish Marketing Group (SSMG), the producer of shellfish in UK, is planning to market its premium ready-to-cook mussel-in-sauce range in the Middle East.
In order its promote the new range, SSMG will be exhibiting the mussel-in-sauce products at Gulfood 2012, which takes place from 19-22 February in Dubai.
SSMG managing director Stephen Cameron said the group sees the Middle East as an exciting new market for Scottish rope-cultivated mussels that offers good potential for growth.
"We will be attending the Gulfood expo to showcase our range of mussel-in-sauce products and we are looking forward to meeting with food buyers from the region," Cameron added.
The company's portfolio of chilled and frozen ready-to-cook range includes Scottish Mussels in Garlic Butter, Scottish Mussels with Mediterranean Sauce, and Scottish Mussels in Thai Sauce.
According to the company, all these products offer an excellent shelf-life and use premium Scottish rope-grown mussels that are cultivated by SSMG member farms on the West coast of Scotland and Shetland.
